1. State the assignment (problem/project) in your own words. Create and program a robot to stop in front of a box and continue moving when the box is taken out of its path.
2. What are your input factors? (What do you need to know or do before you can begin?) Include the research you did. We needed to understand how to program the robot to continue moving when the box was moved out of it's way. 3. Describe the process in detail. Explain the steps you followed in order to complete the project. First we built the robot, and got the motors to work using lab view. After this we connected the sensor and programmed it to stop in front of the box, and then program it to continue moving when an object wasn't in it's path. 4. Describe the final output / product in detail: (what are we looking at?) Our robot operated with two motors in the back, the design of the robot helped with crossing the two inch gaps prior to using the sensor.
5. Describe feedback you received during the project (suggestions, comments, etc). From peers, instructor etc.. How did you use this feedback to correct issues with your project? Our robot worked well, and did not receive any negative feedback. 6. What did you learn during the assignment such as tools, skills, design concepts, software, hardware, etc ? , During this assignment we became more accustomed to using lab view to program a robot. 7. If you were to do the project again, what would you do differently and why? Describe one challenge in building and programming the robot. One thing we would change on our robot is the placement of the sensor, to make it more centered, as to prevent it from picking up anything from the sides of the robot. One challenge while programming the robot was that our computer didn't work with the sensor, so we had to borrow another group's computer.
